Thank you for your interest in John Peter Smith Health Network’s Orthopaedic Residency program. The core of the residency is the experience at Tarrant County’s hospital, with one million patient encounters per year. The JPS residents treat patients in a very busy orthopaedic clinic, serving all subspecialty areas of orthopaedics, so that the resident immediately gains the experience of being in practice.  JPS is a Level I Trauma Center where the residents have significant responsibility with faculty supervision. Residents rotate at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth with Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons.  In addition, residents rotate with several private practice orthopaedic surgeons to broaden their exposure.
